It was the beginning of a typical RiverClan morning, besides the fact that patrols were a little bit delayed to change the life of a little kit. The leader knew her clan was a little confused, but a kit ceremony at the first time of day shouldn't be something they could complain about. She was sure they had gotten the same treatment. The fluffy silver leader quickly pounced up the wetrock as soon as the sun rose over the horizon. They could use a few moments, but they couldn't waste time.
"Let all cats old enough to swim in the currents of RiverClan's territory join me beneath the wetrock for a clan meeting," the she-cat's voice boomed, seeming to whisper on the wind all throughout RiverClan's territory, as well as inching over the border to their neighboring clans. Taking a seat, the leader began to wait for her eager clanmates to pile out, giving Aquakit a small smile as he walked out from the nursery.

Aquakit smiled back to his leader. His thickening pelt, buffeted the wind that rolled gently in the RiverClan territory. The two of them had had a discussion earlier and he knew his ceremony was today.
He walked calmly closer as he tried to hide his growing sensation to run and leap across the clearing to the base of wetrock. It took all of his control not to fidget when he finally sat down, awaiting his clanmates.

As her clanmates piled out into the clearing, the gray leader watched Aquakit with longing eyes. She wished she could go back to the place of her apprentice ceremony. She smiled when she realized he wasn't shaking in his fur, like she had done herself. He was trying to keep still.
"By appointing new apprentices, we can show that RiverClan will survive and grow stronger," she continued, moving her head to look over at all her clanmates, her head then moving back to Aquakit with a grin. "Step forward, Aquakit," she blinked, waiting for him to oblige.
"From this moment on, and until he has earned his name, will be known as Aquapaw. Speckledwing, you are now ready to take on an apprentice. Your love and compassion for healing and serving the clan is what this apprentice desires, and I'm sure StarClan will agree. Teach him well," she dipped her head to the medicine cat, even though the apprentice and medicine cat would have to perform another ceremony at the Moonstone with StarClan.

Aquakit looked up at his leader as she spoke to the clan. He did not desire to be a warrior, he wanted to learn how to use nature's gifts and teach them to his clanmates and help them, as well. "Step forward, Aquakit."
He stepped forward at the sound of his name.
"From this moment on, and until he has earned his name, will be known as Aquapaw. Speckledwing, you are now ready to take on an apprentice. Your love and compassion for healing and serving the clan is what this apprentice desires, and I'm sure StarClan will agree. Teach him well,"
Aquapaw felt a jolt of energy surge through him as his new name was called out by Bliss'star. He felt the need to jump and squeal but was too frozen by the cold wind to move. He looked to were his new mentor was, and smiled. He slowly walked towards her and touched his nose to hers. The wind bit at it like it was fresh-kill.

She looked at her friend and her new apprentice and smiled. Perhapes it would help specklewing open up a little to have an apprentice. Sealstorm thought having an apprentice might make her more like how she used to be, before her mentor died.

Specklewing felt numb 'I have an apprentice' she thought. She wasn't sure she would be able to train an apprentice very well. She touched noses with Aquapaw, and tried to smile. She remembered her own apprentice ceremony, and she felt alittle better, 'I'll be able to train an apprentice. Even if he hates me'. She breathed deeply, trying to calm down. 'I can do this'

Aquapaw couldn't help but to break into a loud purr, lound enough for the whole Clan to hear. He went up on his tippie toes and wispered into Specklewing's right ear, "I hope you know I will never, ever again be this calm!"

Specklewing heard his comment, that made her purr in amusment. Perhapes it wouldn't be as bad a she thought. 'where do I even start training an apprentice' she thought. She glanced over at Sealstorm and smiled, at her friend. Tonight I'll have his ceremony at the moonstone .

Aquapaw stepped back and smiled with pure joy at Specklewing. "Isn't there a half moon tonight?" He bounced as the thought surged through is small brain that was bound to grow as information was learned.

She smiled back, suprised that he seemed so happy with her as his mentor. "Yes" she mewed "You will be going tonight" She smiled again. 'I guess it won't be so bad having an apprentice afterall'

Aquapaw nodded. "I should probably eat and take a nap, or I won't wanna go!" He looked around the camp. "Can we start making a nest for me, Specklewing?", he asked in a sweet kit voice. He yawned to add emphasis that he needed one.

"Yes" she mewed, amused by his method of asking. He probably was tired though, and it was a long jorney. "Follow me" she yawned tired herself, 'I should probably sleep to" she thought.

"Ok, Specklewing!" Aquapaw watched her yawn. He yawned again, too. Funny how when you see another cat yawn you just have to yawn too! He thought to himself has he padded alongside his mentor.

She entered the medicine den to make Aquapaws nest. She padded over to where she kept moss and braken, she always had moss, and she had fetched some braken as she was expecting Aquapaw to be apprenticed soon.
She pulled out a mouthful of braken and moss to make the nest. "Are you going to help?" she mewed, around the mouthful of moss.

Aquapaw entered the den in awe. "Whoa! I've only been in here once when you weren't here and in the dark when my eyes were still bad, but it's so cool in here with light!" He let his eyes explore the den until he was jolted back to reality.
"Are you going to help?"
He stumbled with his words. "Oh.. uh, right!" His heart beat faster as he stepped closer. "Um... I don't know how to help." He crouched down, thinking he was going to get a scold like his father always had at the tiniest things.
