"Greeting Oakpelt" Specklewing mewed. 'we're all here now' she thought ready to begin the journey. She streached she was slightly stiff from sitting in the cold wind. "We should probably go" she mewed to the other medicine cats.

Eager to leave, Ivyscar looked over her shoulder at her apprentice. Although he was slow, the medicine cat apprentice was one of the only cats that she could stand.
"Thank Starclan. Come on, Wolfheart. Get off your lazy tail and lets go," the she-cat meowed, waiting for the wolfish cat to join her at her side.
Although the day had not exactly arrived yet, Ivyscar felt the crisp breeze ruffle through her fur. The start of the morning, she liked to think.
//gah. Sorry it's so short. Just trying to keep up.//

Specklewing felt the cold breeze against her fur, she was ready to go. She shook out her ruffled fur. She arched her back. She no longer felt tired she felt full of energy.
She could hardly sit still, she felt like runnning, she wasn't sure why she felt so energized now. It hadn't been long ago that she had wished to sleep. 'Good, now I won't be tired the whole journey.
She had to stifle a purr, when Ivyscar yelled at her apprentice but she managed to be quiet. She twiched her ears at a russtling sound, which turned out to be nothing more than a squirrrel. She gave her fur a few quick licks to smooth it.

Nearpaw could pick up the soft murmurs of cats in the distance, the mewls growing louder with each pawstep. He couldn't help but feel curious about the other medicine cats--who were they? He certainly didn't know anyone, considering he barely leaves his den. That will all change, for sure.
The blind apprentice's left paw accidentally snagged against a gnarled root, adding another cut to the multitiude of scratches that crisscrossed on his forelimbs. Ouch. They were rather stark against his white fur, pale, winding red paths. Well. Scars were the norm for someone so accident-prone. Nearpaw certainly didn't care much for his looks, so it was fine either way. No pain, no gain.
When Oakpelt stopped, Nearpaw promptly spat out his tail and whatever loose hair in his mouth. "Your tail is shedding in my mouth, sir." He mewed to Oakpelt, ears flicking back. Nearpaw didn't need extra hairballs to spit out, but he knew this was the only... reasonable way for him to get to the Moonstone without going astray--which he tended to do a lot.

snowpaw looked at all the new faces and saw aquapaw, the other medicine cat apprentice like her, she smiled slightly and looked up at her mentor, her eyes full of excitement. she saw another apprentice by the looks of it walk over as well, nearpaw she recognized and smiled seeing other apprentices and other cats like her, her tail swayed back and forth excitedly "skystorm, wheres shadowclan?" she asked quietly looking for a trace of them and raised her nose to the sky and inhaled

Aquapaw flattened his ears and bit back a harsh response. He decided to keep is mouth shut, and never talk to the fiery she-cat unless he absolutely had to. He would much rather talk to Wolfheart.
Looking around, he let his eyes roam, studding all the other medicine cats and their apprentices. He noticed a smaller white and fluffy cat, who smelled like the forest. He could only assume he was from ThunderClan. Once he bumped into his mentor, he though he had done it by accident, but he had also looked like he was having trouble putting his paws in the right place. Is he blind or something?
The blue-sliver apprentice walked over to his side. "Hello, my name's Aquapaw. Who are you?" He meowed in a neutral voice.

"We should get going." Skystorm suggested, beginning to walk over the springy grass moor. "Why don't we discuss some good herbs on the way? It gets boring after a while, if you've traveled this path do often." With that, the WindClan medicine cat leaned down to nip a stalk of watermint, letting the sap flow into her mouth. She swallowed it, enjoying the bittersweet taste. It was barely anything- StarClan would not mind, she had done it before.
"Three apprentice ceremonies today." Skystorm noted. "Three. Snowpaw, Nettlepaw, and Aquapaw. I could do Snowpaw's first, if no one else wants to."

Nearpaw knew there was someone beside him, he could hear their pawsteps getting closer, rustling the grass beneath. Nearpaw fixed his blind gaze on the ground. No point in looking at whoever was there when you can't actually see them, right?
"Nearpaw." He mewed. Clear, concise and to the point. Aquapaw smelt vaguely of... water? Riverclan. Had to be.
When another cat announced that there were three new apprentices, Nearpaw flattened his ears. "Who's Nettlepaw and Snowpaw?"
Quick calculations told him that there had to be at least seven other cats there. Great... Nearpaw wasn't much of a socialite.

"I'm not lazy." Wolfheart almost pouted at the way Ivyscar treated him sometimes, and this was no exception. So what if he was her apprentice and that he still had trouble with naming specific herbs. They were roughly the same age and they could actually understand each other, and that should warrant something other than the casual order tossed at him.
Regardless he picked himself up from the grass and hobbled after the calico she-cat, keeping his lame leg tucked to his chest, stretching his tail out behind him. While he could walk perfectly fine, he hardly walked outside ShadowClan's territory ever since he was injured; and going to visit Mothermouth was a thing he definitely needed while he learned his duties as a medicine cat. He glanced around with golden eyes, catching sight of the other apprentices.
And promptly felt awkward.
They were younger than he was, too young to be considered even warriors at this point. And here he was, a graduate from warrior apprentice training; crippled and studying under a younger cat than himself. As Wolfheart frowned and lowered his ears in embarrassment, his gaze lingered on the small, stumbling apprentice, Nearpaw, and Aquapaw, he had heard. The connection between the tom's eyes and Ivyscar's one blind one clicked instantly, and he felt humbled once again. There was the ThunderClan apprentice, already knowing how he was going to be of help, even with his blindness. Wolfheart brought his gaze away from the other cats and lowered his head, placing his paws closer to Ivyscar so that their pelts brushed as he limped along. "I feel pathetic," he muttered under his breath to her, ears still pressed against his head with a burning shame.

”Your tail is shedding in my mouth, sir.” The tabby tom’s whiskers twitched with faint amusement—he wasn’t quite sure why, but the matter-of-fact way that Nearpaw said it had struck him. Oakpelt flicked his tail thoughtfully. It was true that it had been slightly odd, guiding a cat that way. Hopefully, Nearpaw’s pride wasn’t too bruised… But that was the only way he could think of to guide the young tom… And perhaps that was less embarrassing—and slightly more effective—than meowing instructions every pawstep. Of course, Oakpelt had tried to be careful on the way… But he had the feeling that Nearpaw’s forelegs would bear a few more scars regardless.
“I’m sorry, Nearpaw, but I can’t help how much my tail sheds,” he mewed mildly. The medicine cat glanced around at the not-so-little group and blinked in agreement at Skystorm’s suggestion. After all, every moment counted on the journey to the Moonstone. They couldn’t waste any time—especially since there were three apprentice ceremonies to perform! For a heartbeat, Oakpelt was reminded of his first half-moon journey. It felt like it hadn’t been long ago at all… He had been so excited (and more than a bit nervous) to be named a medicine cat apprentice in the eyes of StarClan. To him, the other medicine cats had seemed so strange, so hard to talk to—never mind that he wasn’t always the most talkative of cats. Was Nearpaw as excited? Or as nervous? Honestly, Oakpelt wasn’t sure. His apprentice seemed like a… Well, like a muddy pool—difficult to see into. He shook his head, as if to clear it, and fell into step perhaps a couple of pawsteps in front of Nearpaw. “Snowpaw’s the WindClan apprentice,” he explained. For a few heartbeats, he fell quiet. Not like he had much to say, really.

Aquapaw nodded to Oakpelt's comment on Snowpaw. "Yeah, Snowpaw's the apprentice of Skystorm. But I have no idea who Nettlepaw is. There are only three -paws here and as far as I know, there is not Nettlepaw." He shrugged off the confusion of this 'Nettlepaw'. I hope I will make a friend...

Snowpaw looked up at her mentor for a moment and bounded over to nearpaw and aquapaw "hi I'm snowpaw!" she said happily and glanced at the two of them, she had watched nearpaw stumble and guessed he was blind but didn't bother to say anything "are you guys excited?" she asked smiling, she knew she was excited but a bit afraid to be first to go, maybe starclan would go easy on her since she was first. she shook the thoughts out of her head and stared at the other apprentices, it was nice to meet other apprentices that had the same duties as her and that had their paws on the same path. she waited for the two's replies and looked at another cat that looked like a warrior but was ivyscars apprentice, she watched him for a moment, smiled, and then returned her gaze to nearpaw and aquapaw.

"Hi, I'm Snowpaw!"
A white little she-cat said to him and Nearpaw. Aquapaw was still a little nervous about she-cats his age. That's partly why he wanted to be a medicine cat. Not to deal with females, and their complications, gossiping, and embarrassments.
"Oh... uh... I'm-m A-aquap-paw." He shook his pelt to try to get a hold of himself, and to look like he was cold, and not to embarrass himself either. "Um, y-yeah. It's a little cold though." , he lied.
