A small white cat sat delicately on her white garden fence, looking out behind her. Her round eyes scanned the rolling plains that surrounded her nest. Lola and her Twolegs were located farther than the normal TwolegPlace, and out in the moorland. It was nice and quiet here, with nothing but the sound of soft birdsong and the whispering breeze to pierce her ears. Rising to her paws, Lola looked over her shoulder at her nest. Her Twolegs were still inside, not paying any interest to her. This was her chance. Looking back down, she slid her paws down the top of the fence before leaping down. This was her first time venturing farther than her home. She then started walking through the tall grass, not being able to see where she was headed. Her heart raced. This was an adventure! Oh the excitement! The thrill! The-- What was that? Lola pricked her ears, having thought she heard something- or someone.

Hawkclaw was running just on the border where the moors met the forest. A single patrol, just to look out for intruders. His tail flicked as he moved on. The sun was perfect in his tabby fur. But, the nearby stench of the twoleg place made his nose crinkle. He then heard a noise, just to see a little kitty pet moving along. She was on clan territory.
He approached her calmly, trying to keep his calm. Unlike most cats, he wasn't about to jump to attack. "You're a little far from home, aren't you?" he suddenly asked. His eyes gleamed above the ragged, nasty scars that ripped across his cheek.

Lola's fur fluffed at the sound of a voice. Turning around, she spotted a brown tabby. His sudden appearance frightened her, causing her to yelp in fear. She took a few steps back, wide-eyed and ears flat. "Oh, uh, yes....Is this your home? Because I can leave like RIGHT NOW if you want," the words came out shaky and stuttered.

He caught a glimpse of her eyes. The sunlight made them stand out, and they were so bright and so vivid. She didn't even carry that kittypet stench. It was more of a sweet lavender smell. And her voice was sweet, like birds singing in the morning. He didn't know why he was observing all of this. She was a very beautiful cat, though.
Hawkclaw caught a sound of her voice once more. "Oh, this um..." he stopped himself. For an odd reason, he didn't want her to go. Part of him wanted to just talk to her. He didn't know why. He just didn't want her to go. The other part of him knew that she was a kittypet, and if anyone caught them talking he would be crowfood.
"Well, yes. I guess you could consider this my home. I'm one of those clan cats that you might or might have not heard about. Don't worry, though, the rumors you hear about us aren't true. We don't eat kittypets that come along here." he purred in amusement. Maybe small talk for a few minutes wouldn't really hurt anyone.
The clouds suddenly moved over the sun, blocking some of the warm, golden sunlight that was lighting up the place. He shuddered. Was that Starclan telling him to chase her off and do the right thing? To follow the warrior code? He chose to ignore it. Because he didn't want her to leave just yet.
"You're fine, though." Hawkclaw insisted. "I'm Hawkclaw."

Lola calmed herself, flattening her fur. His tone was kind and inviting, not something she expected from a wild cat. Giving a modest lick to her chest, she swished her tail once. "Well, that's a relief," she said halfheartedly, whiskers quivering. At least this cat--wait a minute, did he say Clan? As in group? There are others around here?! I'll have to ask him about that... "Lola." she replied softly, blinking.

So, her name was Lola. To him, it was odd but it was beautiful. He flicked his tail. The air became silent for a few moments. It was a bit awkward, if he must admit himself. He stopped for a few heartbeats to think of what to say, but he could come up with nothing. He could sense a little bit of worry in her, still. Did she not believe him?
"Well" he finally spoke up. "I don't really have much else better to do" that was a lie. "Would you like to take a walk with me? I love getting to know new cats."

Lola blinked. She looked down at her paws, shuffling them. "Uh..." she murmured. Should I be trusting this cat? I just met him, so I barely know him... the she-cat thought. She looked back up at him. Well, he didn't seem hostile, and he's shown nothing but kindness to her ever since they met... "Sure." she finally replied, coming to stand by him. I hope I know what I'm doing.

Hawkclaw nodded his head and started padding away from the forest. "Some of my...clanmates.... aren't too friendly about strangers on our territory. So, maybe we can take the walk around your twoleg place?" he offereded. He feared of getting caught by his clan.

Lola nodded, padding in the direction of her home.
~~~ Soon the small Twoleg nest's silhouette sat on the horizon, along with its very large yard and separate red nest, and the she-cat sped up. She checked over her shoulder to see that Hawkclaw was doing well in keeping up. Unsurprisingly, he was. Stopping on the outside of the white fence that bordered the yard, she crept in between the horizontal posts and waited for Hawkclaw.
(( If you didn't already catch it, her Twolegs own a farm, hence the large yard and red nest. ))
