It was quite in her den, per usual.
And although some would find it lonely and unbearable, Ivyscar found it relaxing and peaceful. It was her saving grace, this silence. It was what she looked forward to those days.
So when her clan's annoying little kits thought that it was a fun idea to interrupt her quiet time, Ivyscar was never happy.
In fact, she would get upset.
But it seemed like a good day to the medicine cat. As far as she could tell, the kits were fast asleep.
Or bothering others.
It didn't matter to the she-cat as long as she got her peace and quiet.

It was a happy, sunny day in Shadowclan. Goldenkit, who was nearly an apprentice anyways, decided to skip out of the nursery and enjoy the fresh air. She was tired of being cooped up inside of that den all day. She knew Mistyfrost wouldn't mind, anyways. So, the orange tabby she-kit made her way to her favorite place; The Medicine cat's den.
She poked her little head in, keeping quiet as she did so. She knew that Ivyscar didn't like loud, noisy kits always bothering her. Goldenkit pushed her way into the den with a bright cheery look on her face. "Hello, Ivyscar"

Ears pricking up at the sound of paws entering her den, Ivyscar turned her head to glance at the intruder.
Goldenkit.
Lovely.
Rolling her eyes and standing up, the medicine cat turned her body around and sat down. Tail flicking from side to side, Ivyscar grumbled.
"What do you want, Goldenkit? You're supposed to stay in the nursery. Not here."
Regardless of who the kit was, Ivyscar had no patience for it. On top of the fact that they were small and had loud tendencies, the medicine cat was also afraid that they'd mess up her wonderful organization of herbs and cobwebs. So, whenever they did happen to come wobbling in, Ivyscar would make sure that they could go no further into her den than the first few feet.

Goldenkit scooted in further into the den, ignoring her medicine cat's annoyance. Deep inside, Goldenkit wished that Ivyscar didn't have an apprentice yet. She always wanted to be a medicine cat, but since the position wasn't open - she was more than likely going to be forced into the life of a warrior. She wanted to be a cat to care for others. Maybe she could be a queen or something, if she ever found a mate.
"Oh, I just wanted to see what you were doing. I've always liked the medicine cat den" she said, her voice dripping with envy and longing.

What was left of her ears twitched in annoyance. Ivyscar could only stand a couple of other cats, and only one of them was younger.
As for what the kit had said, she grumbled something under her breath and stood up.
"Well, the medicine cat den is for medicine cats and the injured. Not curious little kits who should be in the nursery," Ivyscar snapped as she stretched her spine. It wasn't that she hated kits . . .
Oh wait.
It was.
"So as much as you enjoy being in here, I have some training and organizing to do. Come see me when you're sick."

Her words stung her little heart a bit, but she just turned her head. All she wanted was the be a big help to her clan, but her dreams would never come true. With a sigh, she was nearly out of the den when an idea paused her in her steps. Slowly backing into the den again, she looked at Ivyscar with big, hopeful amber eyes.
"If I'm not loud, can I...help you, organize? I promise I'll pay attention and not mess anything up!" the orange kit hoped and prayed to Starclan that Ivyscar would let her help a little bit.

"Look, kid. I don't have time to teach kits how to do my job. I have an apprentice, and he'll be here soon. It's already all done anyways. Go talk to some warriors - figure out who you want to mentor you."
When it came to cats who annoyed her, Ivyscar had no sympathy. She just told it how it was, and that was that.
It was funny. Sometimes, the medicine cat didn't want to be cruel. But she just was. It was who she was, and kindness didn't come easy to her.
Now, however, was not one of those times. Ivyscar didn't have the patience to deal with any kits at the moment [ but did she ever? ] and the she-cat just wanted to get her daily training over with.

Goldenkit glared at her medicine cat, but the expected respect made her bite her tongue. "Fine" she growled and stormed out of the den. Why was Ivyscar such a grouch? Goldenkit was only trying to be nice and helpful. 'Starclan, I hope I never become mean like that!' she thought, sulking away from the medicine cat's den.
