The sun had just set, and Cavepelt couldn't stand another second in camp. He wanted to go out and walk on his own, to enjoy the air and stare at the stars. He slyly left the camp, not looking back or anything. He would be gone for just a few minutes. The clan wouldn't notice he was even gone. He made his way into the territory, feeling twigs catch his pelt.
He found a spot where the trees opened up and allowed him to view the sky. He lay down, glancing at each star and sighed. He couldn't get her off of his mind. Her beautiful golden coat. Her bright green eyes that he couldn't help but to get lost in. And he loved how she smelled of the fresh moor. What was he doing, falling in love with a Windclan she-cat? She'd never feel the same!
And, again, he couldn't help it. He remembered just earlier in the day when he was playing a game of catch the moss with her. It was kit-like of them, but it was fun. He had never had fun before! Oh, and teaching her to climb a tree! He purred and sighed again.
'Oh, Suncloud...' he thought.
And at that moment, he felt as if someone was watching him.

Russettail had a bad habit of not being able to sleep when others were rustling around. She heard another warrior meow in their sleep. The final straw.
Standing up as quietly as she could, the warrior tip-toed her way out of the den and into the camp clearing. Once there, she headed out of camp, thinking about going on a late-night hunt.
However, upon picking up the scent trails of one of her clanmates, Russettail changed her mind. She jumped in the other direction and padded off towards the scent.
After a few moments of walking, the she-cat spotted a dark shadow in a clearing. "Hello?" she called out softly, as to not disrupt the creatures around her too much.

Cavepelt instantly sat up at the voice and gazed around. His eyes adjusted to see the faint outline of his clan mate. He stood up, feeling a small amount of annoyance. She had disrupted his wonderful reverie of the beautiful Windclan warrior.
"Hello, Russettail" he said, trying to hide his irritation.

"Hi. What're you doing out here so late?"
Russettail was quite surprised that Cavepelt was not back at camp during such late hours of the night. It was odd, she thought, that he was alone, too. Sitting down, the she-cat sheathed and unsheathed her claws, digging them into the damp ground.
Normally, Russettail would've said her goodbyes and left to go do her own thing, but something about this tom captivated her. He had always caught her attention, even when they were apprentices.

Oh well for his moment of quiet time and peace to think about his day alone. It didn't seem like his clan mate was eager to leave anytime soon. It pretty much seemed as if she was making herself rather comfortable. With a sigh, he sat himself up and nodded his head to her. "It's such a nice night out tonight. I thought I would come out here and see the stars. I've always thought they were so beautiful."
'Just like Suncloud. Beautiful....' he thought.
He stared in silence at the stars a bit longer, then he switched his gaze back to Russettail. "How about you? What brings you out here?"

Russettail caught the other warrior sigh, but thought nothing of it. Instead of dwelling on such an insignificant sound, the she-cat focused her energy on trying to find specific stars. She imagined that each one was one of her ancestors, each with an exciting story of their own to tell.
"Me?" she meowed, cocking her head to the side, "I just couldn't sleep tonight. I was going to go hunting, but then I picked up on your scent trail and I kind of followed it."
After a moment of thinking, Russettail realized that her sentence sounded awkward and made an attempt to fix it. "Not that I was looking for it. Or that I knew it was you. I was just curious so I followed it and yeah."
She shut her mouth when her words began to get more and more awkward.

Cavepelt shrugged. Maybe he wasn't the only one who just needed to get out of camp for a while. He had the perfect idea of being alone to think about Suncloud, but maybe some company wouldn't hurt anybody, right? With a sigh, he nodded his head at his clan mate.
"You're fine, though. I understand. Camp can be boring sometimes...." he cut off, and gazed back at the stars. He purred a little as he watched them shine so bright in the sky. "Well, and the stars are so pretty...would you like to sit here and watch them with me?" he offered.

Everything was going normal, until BAM.
Russettail was shocked when she was invited to sit with the tom, so she kind of just sat there for a moment or two, trying to analyze what had just happened.
"Sit with you?" she asked, tilting her head to the side, "Sure! Why not!" The she-cat rose to her paws and awkwardly moved closer, resuming her sitting position next to Cavepelt.
Idly flicking her tail back and forth, Russettail tried to think of something to say. Her words were jumbled, per usual around toms, but she kept a calm facade.
"So . . . how've you been?" It wasn't the best thing to say, but it was the only thing that the warrior could think of.

Cavepelt watched her awkwardly sit next to him, and he suddenly felt awkward as well. But he ignored the feeling and nodded his head to her. He watched the stars and tried to count them in his head. He soon gave up after about twenty or so. The stars, there were too many to count. He wondered which star was his mother. His last words to her, they were a demand for her to stay out of his life. Then, she was murdered by a monster on the thunderpath.
Go figure.
He snapped from the memory and looked back to Russettail. "Oh, me? I've been good. You know, living the daily and average life of a warrior. How about you?" he asked her.

Russettail wasn't going to lie - her life was pretty good at the moment. She had almost everything she wanted. She had good health, friends, peace, and a comfortable living style, The only thing that she was lacking, however, was romance and a family.
And she would be the first to admit that that was what she was looking for.
"I'm doing okay. Just waiting for that right partner to come along, y'know." Russettail inhaled, taking in the soft scents of the forest that surrounded her. It was at times like this when she wished the most that she had someone that she could connect with on that level.
"But I know that they'll come with time. I'll find someone perfect for me, and I'll have a family," she purred, thoughts wandering away from reality. Russettail always pictured her ideal family, though she wasn't sure what they exactly looked like. She could count the little bodies next to her, and the large blob that stood next to her. They were faceless, colorless, but she could still see them.
