"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey, join here beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting." Snowstar yowled, sitting down on the rock, and gazing around the clearing at her oncoming clan. She lifted her small white head elegantly, and blinked her extreme blue eyes. "Today, Amberpaw will be assigned a mentor." The young ThunderClan leader awaited for her clan to settle.

Amberpaw, knowing this is her official ceremony, takes a seat in the front row as she awaits her command to move forward, as she had seen all the other apprentices do. Her tail curls around her paws, and she makes sure her fur keeps itself in place. Sitting strait, she kept her eyes locked on her leader, focusing all she could.

He sat near the fresh-kill pile, finishing off a small mouse in a few swift bites. All the while, Oakpelt’s mind was on his duties. So far, things had been all right. The burdock was still fresh, thank StarClan… But he was starting to run slightly low on marigold leaves. There was enough stored there to cover for a little while, of course, and he could always use horsetail. But the thought of running low on anything was a little unnerving. The path of life wasn’t smooth and straight, after all, but filled with bumps and twists. It was best to be prepared. Marigold grew best near water, like the area close to Sunningrocks… "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey, join here beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting."
Oakpelt lifted his head as the time-honored yowl rang through camp. A meeting? What could be going on? Officially curious, the light brown tabby tom got to his paws and padded toward the Highrock, catching sight of Amberpaw sitting in the front row. His green eyes widened slightly as he realized. That’s right, she had been training with another apprentice and their mentor… That had to be rough on her, to be sure. The medicine cat’s guess was confirmed as Snowstar continued. He wound his way through his Clanmates, careful to watch where he put his paws, and found an empty place in the front. The light brown tabby sat down and wrapped his white-tipped tail neatly around his forepaws, glancing up at Snowstar. Who would the leader pick?

At the sound of his leader's call, he picked himself up from the cozy moss of the warrior's den and sat beneath High rock. So, Amberpaw was finally getting a mentor? It was about time. She was getting pretty useless without all of the training. He snorted, and kept his mouth shut, even though he wanted to say his thoughts out loud. He watched as the other warriors started to fill in below.
He caught Amberpaw's determined, focused look. She looked relieved and happy that she would finally be a real apprentice, not just some kit that sat around camp all day. He thought back to the day he got a mentor, his father. He guessed he could relate to that feeling. It was an exciting thing to become an apprentice. To finally be able to hunt and fight for the clan.
As the cats filled in, he flicked Amberpaw's shoulder with his tail and let his gaze soften a little. "Are you excited, Amberpaw?"

"Are you excited, Amberpaw?"
The small she-cat turned her neck quickly toward the voice, her lips in a smile that couldn't even be forced off her face. All her happiness was bond up inside her, like a lit firework, but she wouldn't let it explode. She nods her head and gracefully turns back to her leader, ready to jump up and become a real apprentice in front of the clan she knew and loved. She continued to keep herself from shaking with excitement.

"Amberpaw," Snowstar started, "You've been training among the clan as a very helpful cat to the clan, and now you'll be named a mentor." She raised her tail, cheered as she made the excited apprentice even more happy. "Leopardfang, you're the deputy, and I trust you to train Amberpaw with the skills and loyalty you possess. You will be her mentor." The young white she-cat nodded towards the two cats, wrapping her tail neatly around her paws and observing the clan in peace while they took in the news.

Leopardfang sat next to Snowstar, gazing at the Clan with bright eyes. She listened to her leader speak until her name was called. She snapped ou of her doze and flicked her ears. Amberpaw, she thought. Wonderful, I'm half awake and I get to show an apprentice around the territory.
She shock her head to get rid of the thought and steped towards her adopted kit who she had raised when she appeared at camp.

"Alright Leopardfang, it's up to you to choose what you and your apprentice will do. I'll deal with the patrols." Snowstar mewed, flashing her blue gaze around the rest of the cats. "This meeting is over," the young white she-cat leaped lightly off the rock, shaking her pelt as she landed and padded over to Oakpelt. "Do you need any help gathering herbs in the forest, or are you all set?"

Cavepelt nodded his head and forced a smile at the young apprentice. But the smile vanished when his deputy was called up. Out of all cats, Snowstar picked Leopardfang? Cavepelt forced himself not to growl. He felt envy pricking at this fur like a sharp thorn. If it were any other cat, he would have cheered. But he kept silent.
'That should be me up there' the dark tabby thought bitterly.
One day, that would be him. He'd make sure of it. Just like his father said, you have to do everything in your will to get the power you deserve. Cavepelt would do just that.

Amberpaw touched noses with her new mentor, the cat she called mother. Her tail tip continued to curl with excitement until the meeting was dismissed with Snowstar's call. She took a step back, looking into her mother's eyes. "I'm so excited!" she mews, her eyes glinting with curiosity as she gazed at the entrance to camp. She'd only been to the training hollow and back, as well as the few oaks right outside camp that grew moss to collect.

Leopardfang purred when Amberpaw touched her nose. Her tiredness slowly started to ebb away and engergy filled her muscles just thinking about what she was going to teacher her daughter/appreantice. The meeting was dissmissed and she pulled her nose away and looked into Amberpaw's eyes. "Ah, I've been waiting for this for a while." She arched her back in the sunbeam shinning throught the think canopy of trees. "I shall show you the territory now."
OOC: I'm going to make a new thread in ThunderClan territory, Amberpaw. I'll message you just to make sure you know.

The medicine cat raised his voice in a cheer as Snowstar announced Amberpaw's mentor. Leopardfang was a good cat--and a good deputy--so he was certain that she would train her new apprentice well. Most of all, he was glad that Amberpaw didn't have to share a mentor anymore. Oakpelt dipped his head respectfully as Snowstar padded over to him, his green eyes narrowing thoughtfully. Surely, it wouldn't take him long to collect more... But having a Clanmate along to help would make his job much easier. Greenleaf had been kind to the Clan, it was true, but he figured it was best to get what he needed now and hopefully prevent trouble later. "I'm starting to run low on marigold," he admitted, lifting his gaze once more to glance at the white-furred leader. "I wouldn't mind a Clanmate joining me--I'd like to bring back as much as I can, just in case."

"That's no problem then," Snowstar nodded to the medicine cat. "Cavepelt," she called out, her blue eyes narrowing in on the dark warrior. "Would you mind helping Oakpelt gathering herbs?" the young white she-cat flicked her tail back and forth hopefully, wondering if the sometimes moody warrior wouldn't get irritated with her questioning. Either way, he should want to do something to help his clan. Besides, Oakpelt wasn't a bother to be around.
