A quick, black paw shot into the river. There was a splash, and then a thump as a fish landed on the side of the bank. Nightsong took its life, and then turned her sparkling blue eyes up to the other side of the river. ThunderClan's territory was over there. She took in the thick, leafy forest, and sent thanks to StarClan that she was born to RiverClan. Of course, she was sure that's what every cat thought about there own clan. It was just how they were suited.
Blinking slowly, she sat down and wrapped her tail neatly around her paws, taking in the river almost as a dark shadow. She was purely black, and in the night time you could never see her except for the extreme light of her eyes when she opened them. Nightsong appreciated her looks, being as hidden as a shadow was a plus sometime.

Splash. The fish flew out of the water, landing on the shore beside the huge tomcat. Killing it quickly with a swift bite, Lionstorm thanks Starclan for it's life. He was down at a more secluded end of the river at the moment. He had a pile of two fish beside him. Both of the fish were quite large, which he was proud of but he still wanted to catch more. Picking up both fish in his mouth, Lionstorm padded along the river. He could faintly scent Thunderclan from across the river. He was so glad that he had been born in Riverclan. Although Lionstorm did have a Riverclan built body, he did have a few thunderclan-like traits. But that did not mean he was Thunderclan, it just meant he was different. Lionstorm was a very large tom with bigger muscles and lion-like fur. But his size did not affect his swimming. His fur did. It was long so it dragged him down sometimes, but he still managed to be a fast swimmer. Oh well. Coming through a patch of reeds, he spotted Nightsong, a fellow warrior. Dropping the fish, he gave her a polite nod in greeting. "Nice catch." he said, seeing that she had caught a very good-sized fish.

Nightsong gazed steadily over at the approaching warrior, her eyes narrowing as she observed his long, thick fur. She would never be able to stand having fur like that during the hot greenleaf, and trying to swim. But he was big and strong, so she guessed he dealt well. She gave him a friendly nod back, shaking her sleek black pelt and glancing over at her own fish. "The river's full of fish, I love it." she tried making conversation, although most cats knew she wasn't the talkative type.

Bliss'star was a little ways upstream from Nightsong and Lionstorm. At the camp, she'd told Spottedclaw to watch over things while she took a small walk by herself near the ThunderClan border. She described it as a 'one-man patrol' sort of thing. Secretly, she was looking for traces of her brother, Tidalrage, to see if he was still around the territory. He had chose to leave her in RiverClan and become a rouge, only stopping when the time was right. But he hadn't been around, and the fuzzy violet-eyed leader feared for the worst.
She stops, taking a look at her reflection in the water before dipping her head in for a drink. The current was strong, but brought her scent downstream with it. Raising her head, she let out a small whisper. "Tidal," she murmurs, gazing around quietly before repeating herself. Without an answer, she let her head droop below her shoulder blades. Taking a seat, she let her claws grasp at a small wad of soaked moss, just ripping small holes in it to let a few smooth droplets onto her claws. A few minnows circled in small pools without a care, and the sad leader just watched them with little amusement.

Jaywing slowly padded behind his leader. She had no idea that he was behind her, since he just wanted to see where she was going. Ever since their meal together and their walk to the river and their little game, he felt closer to his leader. So, with nothing more to do, he followed her to the river. He stopped when she stopped, though. She whispered something, but he couldn't quite tell what it was.
In the distance, he could see Nightsong and Lionstorm downstream. He thought about joining them, but first she wanted to see what was going on with his leader. He watched as she gazed at minnows with amusement. He padded behind her, a little too quietly.
"They can be fun to watch, can't they?"

Lionstorm knew that Nightsong was a more quiet kind of she-cat and he respected that. He was not the type of cat to go on blabbing and talking about anything and everything. Nodding in agreement at her reply, he looked at the river. "It really is. These two nearly jumped into my paws." Lionstorm said, glancing towards the two fish he had already caught. Yes, having his heavier fur in greenleaf was definitely annoying sometimes. But he usually just went swimming to cool himself down. When he had first started swimming as a kit, his fur had dragged him down a lot. But in a way, the extra effort he had to put in made him even stronger. So in the long run, it worked out well. About to comment on something, Lionstorm then caught the scent of other cats. Looking up, he spotted Bliss'star and then saw Jaywing come up next to her. A lot of warriors were out and about today. It was nice. Although the Riverclan leader looked sad from what he could see. Immediately, he was concerned. After all, Lionstorm was a very caring cat that always wanted to help in anyway he could. But he was not pushy of course.

Nightsong quivered her whiskers, about to reply to Lionstorm until she also caught the scent of more cats from her clan. Peering around the big warrior, her blue eyes caught sight of the leader and another warrior. Bliss'star looked upset, and a curious feeling made the black she-cat's tail twitch. Deciding to put an effort to be friendly, she pricked her ears and called over. "Hello Bliss'star, Jaywing. Everything alright?" She tilted her head and set her icy eyes on the three cats around her.

"They can be fun to watch, can't they?"The she-cat wasn't frightened by his voice, even though it was sudden. "Hello Jaywing," she greeted him, forcing a smile as she sat up, turning her body toward the tom. "They make time go by," she replies, turning back to the water. She flicked her paw, sending the few drops on her claws back into the pool of water. The minnows swam away in terror, but realizing it was just what they were swimming in, they continued their pointless circling.
"Hello Bliss'star, Jaywing. Everything alright?"
Bliss'star turns her head toward Nightsong and Lionstorm quickly. She hadn't detected the two as they sat downstream and downwind. She gave them a reassuring smile and called back, "Everything's fine over here! Just getting a little fresh air is all. How are you two today?"

Jaywing nodded his head in greeting. "Hello, Bliss'star." and he sat there, watching her scare the little minnows away, and then they swarmed back to their original spot. An amused look fell on his face, and he purred delightfully. And then, he heard the voices of his two clanmates.
He turned his head, and flicked his tail while he twitched his whiskers. He opened his mouth to answer their question, but Bliss'star caught it before he could. "Hello, Nightsong. Lionstorm"

Lionstorm looked over his broad shoulder and then just decided to turn towards the direction of his leader and fellow warrior. That being said, he was now sort of sitting next to Nightsong. Listening close for Bliss'star's answer to Nightsong's question, he twitched his whiskers slightly when she said she was alright. He was ready to do anything she needed, but if she said she was alright then he supposed he would be fine for now. "Hello Bliss'star." he called over, giving a polite dip of his head. "Hello, Jaywing." Lionstorm added then, giving his fellow warrior a polite dip of the head as well. "The fish are really swimming today." he commented, obviously meaning that the prey was quite plentiful. Twitching his tail in contentment, Lionstorm felt the light shine on his pelt, making it even warmer. He would have to go in for a swim later. Nightsong let the others greet eachother while gazing into the river, her blue eyes catching sight of the pretty pebbles under water. Her black coat lay sleek and shiny, and she kept silent, not knowing what else to say to her surrounding clanmates. Bliss'star and Jaywing were a bit off while Lionstorm sat beside her. She was an independent young warrior for the most part, but she didn't mind their company as they all sat near the river. Her tail twitched as her thoughts drifted to how well hunting was. The weather was so nice, and the clan was full from fresh-kill. They never went hungry.

The leader, giving Jaywing a quick look and body language, stood up. They were a little bit away, but the river was hard to hear over. She walked toward Nightsong and Lionstorm, calmly strolling over. "Hello," she dipped her head in return with a smile, making sure to turn off the pity party. She didn't need warriors worrying about her feelings. It was no big deal to them, they wouldn't get it. Might as well change the topic.
"The fish are really swimming today."
Thank StarClan, she thought, almost whispering it, but she kept her mouth open only to answer. "They sure are," she agreed, turning her attention to the river for a moment, watching as a fished jumped up out of the water. And who couldn't miss that opportunity? She was already at the edge of the water anyway. Her tail dropped low, her breathing still as she waiting. The fish jumped again, and she was there to catch it.
Crash! The RiverClan leader was a little to lost in thought. To lost to see that the fish was a little bit off because her shadow barely traced the water. She landed in the water, still managing to have the fish limp in her jaws, but she toppled over into the water like an apprentice! "How embarrassing," she laughed, her ears pressed to her head as she climbed back onto the shore, her fur dripping with water.

Ripplewave walked down to the river to catch prey and sighed sadly. She still missed her mate who had been killed by his own brother a little bit before last newleaf. Stormheart and Darkstorm had both loved her, but she had chosen Stormheart and that had made Darkstorm jealous, he hadn't been that bad until he had found out she was expecting kits and had killed, Stormheart, Aquapaw had never even met his father, but she always told her son about him, luckily her leader had exiled Darkstorm after she had found out what he had done, and he was now known as Dark. She sighed again gazing down into the water waiting for a fish. Once she saw one she quickly shot out her paw hooking up a huge trout and killed it.
